good things

I am already in Christmas party-planning mode.  Hubby declared that we have to have our annual party on December 5th this year!  It is mainly for all of his office (plus a few of our personal friends), and I guess this was the only date everyone could agree on.  It also happens to be my birthday.  Bah-humbug!  hee hee!
Anyway, I am looking for decorations and thinking of a silvery theme.  I found these gorgeous mercury glass tea light holders today and bought several to scatter around the house.  I'll place some on the buffet table along with a scattering of white-gold paillettes (fine glitter) from Martha Stuart at Michael's.  I also have a collection of antiqued Mercury glass ornaments that I'll hang from the chandelier over the table.  I'm trying to decide which color tablecloth to use --  white or red??
BTW--the tea light holders are a nice 4" tall size and were only about $4 each at Target!

I love these! I found something similar at napastyle and posted them on one of my blogs in October....but they are a lot more expensive than these...guess a trip to Target is coming up! Love your blog! :)

i sorta love the white/silver thing...but red is so rich (if you get the deep burgundy red) that THAT is also beautiful with anything- although I prefer red with gold - dunno why.

And J's birthday is Dec 10 but her party is Dec 6th. How fun! I think she has a wonderful and loving personality- a trait to Sagittarius people- :)

I LOVE mercury glass! I am sure your party is going to be fabulous! Also, call me crazy, but I think South Florida is the BEST place at Christmas. No freezing temps but tons of holiday cheer!! D and I are coming down for Christmas and New Years and I can't wait!

Have a great day!

Sounds like a classic decorating scheme. One that envelops you without being overwhelming. Pictures please. I would use a white cloth.

That will look so pretty. I would use white instead of red; or a green could look pretty too. I can't wait to see pictures! Heather from grace303.blogspot.com
