what's on your Christmas list?

Sorry for my lack of posts lately but life has been a bit hectic.  My job is slowly driving me bonkers and I think I need some time off--like approximately 3 months.  You know it's not a good thing when you get into the car to drive home and start bawling.  Crying whilst driving can be embarrassing--you hope no one is looking at you.  My job is stressful sometimes, and last week was all of those sometimes bunched up together into the same week.  I'm on the verge of quitting, but don't really want to.  I could decrease my hours, but then I'd lose benefits.  Hubby says quit.   He says quit and then we can get a puppy.  Sounds like a no-brainer, hmm??  Easier said then done.  I've worked there 16 years and am at the top of my pay scale.  If I quit and then later decide to come back, I would not be reinstated at my current pay.  Anyway, that is what has been on my mind lately.  I don't know what I am going to do.  I didn't go in today because I could not take one more day.

Anywhoo, onto some shallow obsessing...

Lil Petunia's BFF came over to spend the night the other day wearing this strand of pearls.  I'm not kidding--she's 8 years old.  She wore them to school and I picked the girls up from school together.  "Hmmmm, those are really pretty", I thought to myself.  Then  I came across this Mikimoto ad in one of my magazines.  Same distinctive clasp--same necklace!  I think that I would really like a South Sea pearl choker for myself, but the starting price on these is $18,000 and I don't think hubby would go for it.

I am sorry work is so stressful. I feel you there! Hopefully it will get better so you don't have to quit! But a puppy is tempting :)

I hate to hear that work is making you so upset! That is absolutely the worst! I also cannot believe an 8 year old would be allowed to wear Mikimoto pearls- but they are gorgeous!! I would definitely go for the Tiffany's rings-- then every year your hubby can just add to the collection!

On the work issue, I am thinking along similar lines. I am not really happy with what I am doing but I'm at a loss as to what's next...a few months off would be head-clearing, I think. But that leads to a whole other set of issues, financial and otherwise! So.
Anyway. Christmas. I think my husband has purchased some J.Crew separates already for me. Last night at dinner, though, he started talking about Hermes enamel bracelets! Hmmm. I don't think he was serious, but I would really have to stay working if he would go that route!

Oh no, sorry about work. I'd drop it like a hot potato, but that's just me. I don't work now...and don't miss it at ALL!:)

My Christmas list? Hmmm...I still owe myself a laptop, will probably buy den furniture and we're having the porch redone,so I'm good! (Now I'm thinking maybe I SHOULD go get a job to pay for it all!!!)

Oh I'm sorry to hear that work is so stressful! Especially as you have worked so hard to get to the top of your company, I can imagine the commitment you must have given them over the years. You will know the best thing to do I am sure of it, my advice would be to not make any snap decisions and feel really comfortable with your decision before you make it.

The Tiffany rings are beautiful!! So very lovely! Ah imagine one of those sparkling away on your finger!

Oh... I'm so sorry about your work situation. I went through something similar last year with work and I cried a lot in the car. However, it did get better! I hope your situation gets better asap!

I'm loving your Christmas list so far. Great items.

OH Sweetie. I am soo sorry to hear that work is making you so upset. There is so much to be said for the hard work and loyalty of 16 years. And after having worked so hard it is upsetting to think about giving up all that you've earned. I hope that having today off helped you regroup and clear your head for tomorrow. Do what your gut tells you..
And I hope you get everything on your Christmas list. Sounds like you've been very good this year xo

I hope your work situation gets better soon. Your Christmas list items are beautiful! I can't believe an 8 year old would be wearing a Mikimoto. I wonder if it was her mother's?

The Tiffany Celebration rings are so pretty. I love the concept.

I am sorry to hear about your stressful times at work. I was wondering where you were this week. I hope things settle down. Hang in there! On another note, I think those rings would be really pretty.

I hope your Christmas list includes good times at work. And that Santa brings you that. No one wants to be driving whilst crying.

As you know, I stay at home AND I have a puppy.

I would love a new stackable ring...but because I got that puppy I will not be receiving any fancy gifts this Christmas. :(

P.S. That photo of you picking up your sandals is ADORABLE. You are so cute and slim.

I'm so very sorry that work isn't going well. Amazing how when that when the job stinks, it really affects everything. Sending you good thoughts that it improves.

Those T & Co. stackables are divine! I'll have to add them to my Christmas list as well, right after the pony & the MacBook & sovereignty over a small European nation. I'm thinking that by comparison, the Tiffany might look entirely reasonable, no?

What do i want for Christmas? I just asked for another Tiffany charm for my bracelet. I am really not inspired this year.

It just HAS to be the time of year for work stress. My husband called this morning and said that today was absolutely the most strange day he'd experienced at work in 27 years. I'd quit tomorrow if not for two kids in college who like to live the high life!!
