{mascara}

I am always looking for that perfect mascara.
I just purchased YSL's newly released Singulier and we shall see about this one.

I also came across this video which you may find interesting. I was surprised that the testers did not like Diorshow and rated it poorly. I wonder why??

Bottom line:

Top-rated was a department-store brand, Lancôme Définicils, $24.

But several other very good mascaras are sold in drugstores and supermarkets for just $7 to $9: Max Factor Lash Perfection Volume Couture, Maybelline Define-A-Lash Volume, Cover Girl VolumeExact, and L'Oréal Telescopic Clean Definition & Lengthening.

I've worn Lancome Definicils (or it's counterpart) mascara for nearly 25 years!

Because I replace it about every 2 months I will often try another brand and as of yet haven't found anything to replace it. I just bought Smashbox Lash DNA mascara tonight so we'll see how that turns out. I'm a huge fan of Smashbox Reflection high shine lip gloss.

Diorshow did not impress me for wearability;I found it flaked off after a few hours. I have friends that absolutely love it so it's obviously different how it wears on everyone.

After seeing the prices of the drugstore mascara's I am curious to maybe give those a try! I'd love to hear if people have had success with them!

I wish my lashes looked like hers :) I just got a script for Latisse, but I haven't filled it yet. Have you heard about it?!?

I love EVERYTHING about DiorShow except that the brush ends up trying to moonlight as crappy eyeliner and smudges up my eyelids!

I've heard that the new YSL is everything DiorShow is minus the eyelid smudging! So I cannot wait for the UPS man to deliver mine!!

I hope we love it!!

lancome is famous for their mascaras for years, and i have no question about that. i started mine lancome with the Definicils, and then i moved on to the Courbe Virtuose (lancome) so my lashes stay up after curled (unfortunately i have straight straight lashes just like my hair!!). but i would say lancome doesn't give you thick black long lashes unless it's double-coated.

Please tell us how it works out. I've been hearing lots about this mascara and am waiting for a review from an actual friend rather than from strangers! :=)

I am surprised about Diorshow getting such a poor rating...it is the ONLY one I will ever use. After trying so many different ones (although, not the YSL one)...Diorshow has worked wonders ALL THE TIME!

Let us know how this one works out! I think Dior Show is too flakey. Honestly, I have tried lots of different ones but my favorite is a cheap one: Cover Girl Lash Blast. It's in a bright orange tube.

I'm a fan of both Diorshow and Definicils, and I recently tried Anastasia - which is also good. I've never understood the fascination with Maybelline Great Lash - it does nothing for me. In addition to the usual qualities one looks for in mascara, for me, it's important that it washes off with my normal cleanser and doesn't require an additional makeup remover - which is the case with my three faves.

Tres interesting!! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Trish McEvoy lash curling in jet black. You can cry your eyes out and it doesn't run, but the best part: my lashes are thicker and longer (and the tube gets better which each try). Good luck finding the perfect mascara for you! Xoxo-BLC

I have never tried DiorShow on because of the smell - I can't stand that strong rose smell in anything.

My latest favorite is Bobbi Brown's Extreme Party mascara. Great length & volume, no clumping - and reapplies like a dream. (thus the "party" name - perfect for reapplying for party makeup).

Definitely keep us posted on your new YSL. Faux Cils was my fave until I found the BB one.

Love Diorshow. Thanks for the info on YSL. I may have to try that one too. Always looking for new options.

Bummer that you can't get Max Factor in the U.S. anymore! Like you, I'm still looking for a fabulous mascara, after they discontinued mine:(
