confessions of a shopaholic

Lil Petunia and I saw Confessions of a Shopaholic today and thoroughly enjoyed it.  The movie was quite cute and funny, even though I couldn't relate {{cough}} at all to the situation.  Ahem.
  Anywhoo, there was just one little weird thing that bothered me.  If Rebecca has such a flair for fashion, then why on Earth would Hollywood choose such wacky ensembles for her to wear?  I mean, really......check out these outfits and tell me if you would ever be seen in public in such over-the-top get-ups---not that Isla Fisher didn't look adorable in all of them---just that there were too many colors and statement pieces going on all at once.  But, what do I know...

To me, this is more like it:

And who knew that Isla was a natural brunette?  Which hair color do you prefer?

I agree: her clothes were over the top mix and match. It was almost but not quite as much like in that show "Ugly Betty". The In Style cover is much much more chic.

If it helps explain the movie's over-the-top clothes, the costume designer is the same as "Sex and the City".

Haven't seen the movie yet, but from the commercials, I totally agree that they could've chosen better outfits. I love the book though and can't wait to watch the movie.

Remember in real life she's married to Borat!

Couple little follow up comments::
I thought the same thing about Confessions of a Shopaholic! I was like, why are her clothes so weird!!

-I started my blog as more of a personal blog too--but then realized you never know who reads it. I saw on one girls blog where she had PICTURES of her home on the outside and car and her home address. And she also had a picture of a package she sent to someone that displayed their address as well!! crazy!

-I wish I had flatter hair! I wish I could package up some of my volume and send it to you and everyone else!

-I figured out what a cake server does...after the B&G cut the cake I will cut the cake for other guests along with another friend...

I have always enjoyed reading you blog!

xoxo, kb

Oh, Petunia I thought the exact same thing when Miley Cyrus said that. I know now that she is sure to self-destruct if those are her role models! I thought to myself "what an idiot!!" xoxo

I haven't seen the movie yet but I can't wait! And yes, the outfits are too much.

I didn't know Isla was a brunette. Hmm... tough one. I think I like the red hair but it could be b/c I'm used to seeing her as a red head.

I love her red hair! I agree with you on the craziness of her outfits. I expected her to be more chic and a little less wacky. I was worried when I read that Patricia Field was the stylist.
