{Bloomies, you disappoint me}

As I pulled up to the house this afternoon--I saw this bag leaning against the door and thought to myself  "I don't remember ordering anything from The Gap..."
When I went to pick it up I was pretty horrified.  This is my new leather Tory Burch handbag that I had pre-ordered from Bloomingdale's and was eagerly awaiting?!  Blech!  Stuffed into a too-small thin plastic bag--are you kidding me, Bloomies?  No box?
Not only was it stuffed and mangled into this bag, but it was taped up way crazy!  And holes all over.

Well, I'm sorry Tory, but your crumpled bunch of scratched leather is going back.  I am totally turned off now.

That's horrible. J.Crew charges an arm and a leg for shipping on a little tee and it comes in a paper sack. That isn't even as study as the paper sack! What a joke!

PLEASE send that back. That is unacceptable! I would definitely shoot them an email and let them know what happened. They need to take more care when packaging their expensive goods.

Petunia, the SAME thing happened to me last year - twice! I ordered a Marc Jacobs bag and it arrived in a black plastic bag like that and also a pair of Burberry shoes... again, they just placed the Burberry shoe box in a black plastic bag and it arrived all crushed and damaged. I wrote them and they sent an apology letter, something about appreciating the feedback and a 10% off code for a future purchase.... which I never did use as I won't order from them anymore. I've ordered shoes from other places and they are always put inside another box. Shopbop even has a sticker on their shoeboxes, saying if you return to not return with the shoebox as your "primary box"! Bloomies needs that info! And obviously, my feedback has not caused them to upgrade their shipping packaging! I'm so sorry they are still doing it and your handbag arrived in sad condition.

How disappointing! I had a similar experience in the fall with Nordstrom(??!!). I ordered a pair of Hunters rainboots. The box at my doorstep looked like it had been attacked by a lion. Even the Hunters box inside was mangled. The boots themselves were purple and didn't even match! They were two different shades. It was so unreal. Of course, Nordstrom took the return in store, but wasn't all that apologetic or shocked. I think I was the most shocked. I mean, really? Nordstrom? Since when do they pull crap out of the garbage and ship it? Sigh.

Amen... it is not like they are cheaper...let's say compared to BG, NM or Saks.....
They are so cheap whe it comes to costumer service
. I just had a conversation with BFF about not buying from them any more. TB sends it the next day and with fabulous boxes. Saks sends it with free gift wrapping as does Neimans. Plus free shipping.
I have not used the bloomies charge in months!!
I have to mail this to her! Sorry to hear about your new purse arriving in that plastic bag!!

At first I really thought someone had tampered with your package and put it in this rumpled black bag and re-taped it. When you email Bloomies, also send the photos you showed us. I've only ever had one larger order from them and it was well-boxed. Sorry about your purse and hope you get a new, unscratched and carefully packaged one soon.

PS - Signup for the Tory Burch website emails. They offer free standard shipping on orders of $150 or more.

oh that's awful. I feel the same way when my jcrew collection pieces come in plastic and that gawd awful brown shipping sack! I agree with others...send it back

Yikes! I've had a package or two arrived taped up from various websites, but usually there's a note from the post office that says they messed up somehow.

When I recently ordered a Lilly item from Bloomies, it arrived similarly wrapped. In contrast, that same week I received a cheaper dress from Saks which was carefully and pristinely boxed. Why, Bloomingdales, why??!
