Jenna Lyons, creative director of J Crew, appears in the August issue of Town & Country wearing the feather skirt. My favorite part of her whole outfit is the shoes--which are not even J Crew. (They are Lanvin.) I don't get this skirt at all. It could possibly be cute if it were black, but I don't like the combination of the brown colors of the feathers--from afar it looks like a furry animal. Hmmm....oh, well. I do love the black tights and the bracelets!
For those who liked the Ankle Stretch Toothpick Jeans in my last post, they arrived in the store in Black, style # 18188, as seen below. Same fit as the Twilight jeans, but the denim is a little bit different. As I was checking out, two of the salesgirls complimented my jeans and asked if I bought them at JC. I was wearing the Twilight jeans again--LOVE those jeans!

I think the skirt is horrid. I can't imagine how skinny a lady would have to be NOT to look "hippy" in that! I think that this lady must be pretty svelte but SHE looks "hippy" in it. UGH.
Nice photo of you though!!

You beat me to it!!!! I saw this and was considering scanning it in and doing a post on it....but that skirt stopped me! HAHAHA! It is something, isn't it? You can't possibly clean it. Very bizarre.
It is just awful, isn't it? WHAT were they thinking? I agree with M.Lane -- anyone would look bottom heavy in this thing--and who wants that?
Seriously J Crew, we will not be your fashion victims!
P you look so cute in those jeans! I have to get myself some! Very darling on you.
NOT a fan of the feathered skirt :)
the skirt looks like faux fur...?
kHm
they look great on you- i have to do boot cut stuff or else well it's not a good look for me.
I was reading Town & Country this weekend and thought the same exact things: the skirt looked awful and the shoes were the best part of her outfit.
Jenna pulls the skirt off, but it's certainly not any kind of wardrobe staple.
Love the Ankle Stretch Toothpicks, they look adorable on you!
The Ankle Stretch Toothpick jeans are cute and look great on you. I'm too curvy for them and they look ridiculous on me. I looked like Steve Urkel when I tried them on. I've been cursed with big hips and a booty :(
The furry skirt has to go! Not loving it....
The skirt is not cute and scary!
The skirt is just bizarre! Very cute jeans though!
I saw this last week in T&C ... the best part is that the skirt is like 1400 dollars or something like that. I actually like the idea of the skirt, but I think it would look better in a jacket or vest.
I LOVE the black toothpick pants ... are they black denim or pant material?
Megan ~~ The black toothpick ankles are denim, also--but a slightly different denim than the Twilight wash. Not as thick.
She looks like a pigeon. A fierce pigeon, but still. LOL.
I really must be the VERY last person on the planet that they mail a copy of T&C to. Mine always comes at least two days later than the work copy, but this month I still have yet to recieve it. Thank you for the heads up on the fun article- I cannot wait to read!
Love those toothpick ankle jeans. They look fabulous on you!
Jenna works that skirt as much as it can be worked I suppose. On the other hand, I LOVE the black toothpick jeans on you. I have the blue ones and will definitely get the black ones if/when they go online. Thanks for posting about them. :)
I love the idea of the skirt but the execution just isn't there. It looks furry, not sleek like the McQueen one a few years back. Some things can not be made economically.
Ironic that she's wearing Lanvin shoes when they're are so many JCrews that would have worked.
Those pants are definitely cute...not a fan of the feathered skirt though. What a mess that would make!
I love the cardigan you're wearing. That outfit's a keeper.
Not big on the furry skirt either. To me it does not look high end
at all- it looks very strange to say the least.
You look great in the Twilight denims- looks liek they were made for you!:)Very stylish ensemble!
