{J Crew shoe review & more}

Surprisingly very very comfortable!  Unfortunately, the toe is shaped into a point, so there was way too much room in front of my toes.  With open sandals it is nice when the toe is more rounded to the natural shape of the foot.  Sadly these will be going back.  They are overpriced at $198, but all J Crew shoes with their leather-upper/manmade sole construction are overpriced in my opinion.  This is the Tan Rose color which is a neutral light beige color that will darken over time due to the vachetta leather.  It looks slightly darker on the models in the catalog.

I had high hopes for these and they let me down.  The entire toe/foot area is SO SKINNY that this is as far as I could shove my foot (and I am squeezing my foot forward in this picture) into the sandal.  If your foot is as flat as cardboard then these will fit you fine!  Way too much room in front of the toes again.  Man made sole for $150.  On the positive side--I love the color of the leather!

And on an unrelated note,

Fit is loose--you must go down a size in these unless you want that loose saggy boyfriend look.  They arrive already cuffed and the cuff unrolls to just below the ankle on me.  These are the cutest distressed jeans I've seen yet.  They are not overly distressed, so when the ripped-up trend is over these will still be cute!

Oh I so agree that JCrew shoes are overpriced. Cute but too $$ for the quality. Too bad about the fit though- I really like the flats.

That's really a shame that neither shoe worked for you. I just sent back the Palma vachetta ankle wrap flats with the opposite problem, where the front strap was far too loose on my foot! Very frustrating.

I LOVE the black ones! They're just a little edgy, yet still classy! Cute!!!

I just tried on the Palma in store and the front strap was WAY wide - even on my feet. I just got a pair of the Danielle sandals -very cute. Much more toe-shape friendly.

Jeans are fab on you, by the way!

See & I thought I was the only one that thought the shoes were too skinny & too expensive. Nice to know I'm not alone.
I ebay for my jcrew shoes or wait til the sales hoping. I have the sheerling boots from a few years back that were $275 that I got for 24.99!!! Bought my roommate a pair too.

Those Vachetta sandals are so cute! It's very disappointing about the fit :(

Annie ~~ They are actually dark brown patent and I purchased them at Norstrom. They do come in black, though. The brand is Me Too.

Thanks Petunia for the info - never thought Me Too would have wedges! (haha). I will look for them. :)
And I should really stop ordering jcrew shoes; they always have the ability to tempt me into trying and getting disappointed all over again.
