Hubby took the kids canoeing yesterday with his iPhone in his pocket. Then the canoe tipped over and he fell into the water. with his 5 month-old iPhone. which is now dead. Oh, don't worry--everyone is alright because the water there is only about 3 feet deep! Haha!
My stepson's iPhone lasted 4 months before someone stole it. I'm the only one left here with an iPhone.
A new iPhone costs $400. Yep, they are only cheap when you are first signing up for a new contract. There is no available insurance for iPhones--so when anything happens you must buy a new phone at regular prices. So, the men around here are back to regular phones. :(

All is not lost yet - get a bowl of white rice (uncooked) and put enough so that the phone is completely covered by it- leave it overnight and possibly until tomorrow afternoon...it should work. It happened with my ipod and this is what I did to get it to work again.

Oh No! We haven't gone the IPHONE route but poor Hank has gone in the river with his cellphone three times in as many years.

Oh man. That's why I didn;t get one! Instead I got the samsung 3g thing from tmobile. Same thing and $100 after rebate!
Definitely do the rice trick...I dropped my iphone into my dog's water bowl the DAY AFTER I got my iphone..it worked perfectly and still does 8 months later!!
Oh and the new iphone is $299 not $399 now...not much of a discount, but it's something!!
